Providence Travel Diary Day 2 and 3

Hola Amigos!

Sorry this is a few days late! I didn’t get too many photos from my second day in Providence so I thought that I would combine day 2 and 3. On the second day we went to URI, but it was way too cold to actually tour the campus. However, URI has a great Fashion Merchandising program that I want to go back and look at more!

Again because it was super cold, I went for lots of layers. I’m actually wearing an extra pair of leggings under my jeans! To me this outfit is super preppy and reminds me of a J.Crew ad. The great part about this is you can remake this outfit with any  button down and jacket. You could even throw on a neutral color sweater to show off the cute statement necklace against the collar.

Day 3:

As I said in a previous post, I knew this baby pink leather jacket would be my obsession, and it has definitely become just that! For being from Forever 21, it’s surprisingly good quality! I really love all the details, like the quilting and zippers. I’ve been loving pastels this season, especially with black and white. I just got this dress at Old Navy and can’t wait to wear it all year round, especially in summer, if it ever comes!

Providence Travel Diary Day 1

Hola amigos!

This weekend my mom, my friend Haley and I are all traveling to Providence, Rhode Island to look at colleges. Today we toured Providence college, and of course it’s freezing outside. To keep warm I put on this chunky cardigan I just got at Gap, for a 3rd of the price. It kept me super warm as we went on a campus tour, but still looked cute enough to wear out.

Photoshop Project

Hey guys! I recently finished my first semester, which meant tons of final projects. One that I was really excited about was for my photoshop class. We were told to design our own project that consisted of several images that followed any theme. I chose to do a series of fashion photography. However, I didn’t want them to be a typical fashion photos. I wanted them to start conversations not about the clothes but about the other elements. To do this I layered images on top of each other and created imaginary scenes. Ultimately, this is the only information I started with and had no idea what images I was going to use.

I decided to start by taking some of my favorite blog photos and editing them in different ways. Then, I invited my friends over for a photo shoot. This allowed me to create a variety of images from all different times and places. However, when I finished editing i began to see connections between them. Many of them include flowers or San Francisco, and some elude to the same ideas.

Here are a few I thought I would share with you guys. Hope you enjoy!!

Boot Socks and Cozy Sweaters

Sweater: BP Nordstrom, Leggings: Loft, Shirt: Gap, Necklace: Francesca’s, Purse: DKNY, Shoes: DSW , Socks: Similar here

Warning be prepared for more raving about new clothes.

My mom picked out this adorable purple sweater for me for christmas. It’s super cozy and soft. Plus I have nothing in this rich purple color. It has been pretty warm for winter so I got away without a jacket today. To make it more cozy I paired it with these cute socks and layered a plain button down under my sweater. Hope you’re having a great holiday break!

Think Pink

Hola amigas!

Jacket: Forever 21, Jeans: American Eagle, Shirt: Gap, Necklace: Francesca’s, Shoes: Steve Madden

I don’t think I have ever loved a piece of clothing as much as this jacket. I spotted it online earlier in the month and asked for it for christmas. I’ve had it for probably 24 hours and I can not take it off. The quilting, the color, I love it all. I can’t even believe it’s from FOREVER 21! And most surprising, it’s good quality!! Good job Forever 21.

As you can probably tell from this jacket, I am in love with pastels for the winter. They brighten up all of my usual dark colored winter pieces. Plus, I can easily transition them into the spring, no matter how far away it is.

Beyoncé Style Steal

Hola Amigos!

If you were not already aware, Beyoncé is, and will forever be, Queen of the World. If I wasn’t already in love with her, I saw her in concert this summer. As I am still recovering from my Beyoncé whirlwind, I have been loving her street style. She makes heels look as easy to work into everyday attire as flats. She is able to wear pieces that on others would look overwhelming and bold. But she styles them with the right pieces so that they flow seamlessly into each other. I chose 3 of my favorite and broke them down to a simple equation that can work with any wardrobe.

Tribal Pants

Hola amigos!

In my last post I talked about my fall style: bohemian and preppy. This outfit favors the bohemian side but I think the colors in the pants seem fall-ish. I also know that this shirt is a little cropped but I think that it is totally acceptable for the fall with layers. Especially since the past couple of weekends have been pretty warm. I’m so excited to start posting more fall outfits especially when the weather gets cooler!

Hola Amigos!

With fall just around the corner, the weather can be a little unpredictable here. One day it’s 90 and I’m getting a sunburn and the next it’s rainy and cool enough I can wear jeans. Today, it started off cool so I threw on this leather jacket, that I wear too much, over my summery dress. I thought it was a good transition outfit into fall, but without having to buy all new fall clothes, which I will probably do anyway. This dress is a little short, so it can be another transition piece into fall, when I layer it over leggings or tights.

Speaking of fall clothes, I am beginning to think about what to buy for back to school. I don’t really need anything, but I mean I am a shopping addict. I’m really into bohemian prints in bright or neutral colors for the fall. But I’m also in love with that classic preppy back to school look. Im struggling to find a middle ground between these two diverse styles but hopefully I’ll be able to style to, what I like to call, “Boho prep” outfits.

Lacey Polka Dots

Hola Amigos!

Even though I may be a little behind the trend of print mixing, lately I have been loving pairing lace and crocheted tops with other bolder pieces. I use to always pair lace tops with jean or colored shorts, because it was easy yet cute. However, that easily gets boring so I spiced things up with these black and white polka dotted shorts. By keeping the colors more neutral, I was able to to make the outfit seem more cohesive rather than two mismatched pieces.  Although this was a pretty casual outfit, with the flip flops and all, it was perfect for walking around but nice enough to wear to a museum and restaurant.

Striped Maxi

Hola Amigos!

While in San Fran I bought this adorable striped maxi, even though it’s not really a true maxi on me.  I had been looking for a maxi that buttoned down the front and when I found this one on the sale rack I just couldn’t pass it up. It’s a little low in the back so I paired it with this cute bandeau, which worked perfectly since I love navy and pink. I’m thinking about wearing this outfit for the first day of school but I still have a few weeks to decide. DSCF2570DSCF2572DSCF2571DSCF2573
